7 Tips On Using Google Plus

Google plus is a social networking site and is now open only “on invitation” basis, just like Orkut was in the beginning. Using Google plus is definitely a great experience. I am writing a few tips on the functioning and clever usage of the same.

How To Write Bold and Italics In Status Updates

Using a star before and after the word or phrase converts it into bold letters. For eg. *bold* will turn the letter into bold while _italics_ will turn the letter into italicized form.

How To Read Updates From Family Members Or Best Friends Only

There are times when you may be in need of reading only family or close friends update. In that case first form a list of them named “best friends” and “family” and so on. When in the home tab, click on the same link on the left side. You will be able to read updates only from that circle.

Write A Personal Message To Someone Restricting Anyone Else To Read

Write a post and choose the person’s name or email from the drop down list. Make sure to remove the button public or any other that appears by default.

How Many Characters Can Google+ Update accommodate

I wrote about 20 lines and posted it and Google plus did not complain. I feel there is no limit or at least you may not feel limited like Facebook to post your message.

How Many Photos Can Be Posted On Google Plus

Once again there no limit to the number of photographs being posted but the maximum size of one photo should not be larger that 2048 by 2048 pixels, that comes to approximately  5 megapixels.

What Is The Policy On Sharing Videos

The limit is 15 minutes of full HD 1080 px videos, but once again the number the videos does not count.

What To Do If An Unwanted Person Adds You In His/ Her Circle

Sometimes we find that updates from unknown persons start appearing on our profile page. Many times they may nasty and against moral and ethical values. In that case click on the person’s profile and choose “Block XYZ” or “Report This Profile“. When you choose report a profile Google will ask you to choose one of reasons from a provided list for reporting.
